Day 26 - Pigeon Pose




DAY 26 🌼 Pose: Pigeon

Alignment: A delicious posture to release the outer hips and glutes, a great pose at releasing lower back pain, tight hips and increasing awareness for the sciatic nerve. Starting in table top, slide the right knee to the right wrist, guide the right foot across to the left hand side of the mat, resting in front of the left thigh. Slide and wiggle the left foot and leg back, almost creating a diagonal stretch between both knees. Use bolsters or cushions underneath the left glue if the pelvis rests high. You can adjust the upper body by sinking the body down on the elbows or forearms, even resting the chest on the floor with arms extended. 10 deep breaths, or upto 5 minutes. Repeat the other side!

Benefits: Stretches the glutes, hip flexors, thighs, hips. Aids digestions and stimulates the abdominals. A fantastic pose at helping to release emotional tensions and stress.
