Day 11 - Lizard Pose
Pose: Lizard Pose - Utthan Pristhasana
Alignment: From downward facing dog, inhale to reach the right leg high, exhale to bring it forwards between the hands! Sink the left knee down and find your low lunge posture. Gently walk your right foot to the right hand side of the mat, heel on the mat and toes off, this allows external rotation through the leg and hip. You CAN keep your back kneedown a take time to sink deeper into the pose, being mindful of lengthening the belly and waist. If you feel you want to move deeper lift the back knee. You can use support under the pelvis, a bolster is always great! Blocks under the hands, forearms and head. 1-2 minute how each side! Breathe deep and release.
Benefits: Opens the hips, groin, thighs and hamstrings. Strengthens the legs, feet and core.
